Nail Polish Jewelry - Completely in Love

For "Completely in Love," I used Nicole by OPI Kim-pletely in Love. (I was very creative with naming this one, huh?) I regret not sealing this one with a layer or two of white polish or one that's more similar to the base color. At certain angles, you can see the silver of the post peeking through. Fortunately, it looks opaque most of the time. I wore China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint on my nails.

Maybelline Clearly Spotted

Self-purchased

Maybelline Clearly Spotted is a mix of medium, small, and fine black and white matte hex glitter in a clear base. It's best used as a glitter topper and very versatile so you can wear it over any color (and also gradients)! I wore 1 coat over L'Oreal Walk on the Beach. The formula was great! In fact, it has my ideal formula for glitter toppers because it had just the right viscosity and amount of clear base, making the application practically effortless. (I say "practically" because I dabbed a little here and there to make it appear more uniform, which is how I prefer to wear glitter toppers.) It didn't dry shiny because of the matte glitter; I used 2 coats of topcoat because it dried a bit bumpy. I definitely recommend Clearly Spotted for any collection. I was very happy with it, compared to the other variations of black and white glitter toppers. (I guess I won't be able to get over the bar glitter that is in some variations.) I'm thinking about getting one or two back-ups because Maybelline, unfortunately, uses mini-sized polish bottles. :(

JOBY Butterflies Nail Art Decals + Review

Self-purchased

Last week, I used these pretty butterfly nail stickers to accompany OPI My Vampire is Buff. I waited for the base to dry before adhering the stickers. These butterfly stickers come in eight variations (I used six for my mani) with an iridescent glitter overlay on them and were of good quality. The butterfly wings were printed well and the color didn't melt off when I applied top coat. A couple butterflies didn't stick well so I had to push them down with my fingers and a pair of tweezers before applying two coats of top coat. For the stickers that stuck well, I only had to use one coat. It was my first time using nail stickers, and I thought they would be a breeze to apply. In actuality, I had a difficult time taking the stickers off the white backing. I tried using tweezers, but the stickers were delicate enough that I ended up tearing one a little. I found it easier to bend the white backing until one end of the sticker stuck out and then used tweezers to put it on my nail. These were relatively easy to maneuver, but you need to make sure not to press down on them too hard when you initially apply them or you can't change their positions. As shown, you can still somewhat see the clear lining of the stickers, which isn't as visible from a distance. I'm happy to report that the stickers lasted a whole week without any lifting and were easy to remove since they dissolved as I rubbed them off with regular nail polish remover. Despite the cons, I would still recommend these nail stickers! They are easy to apply (after a small learning curve) and make for super easy nail art. I purchased these nail decals from Overall Beauty.

Below are several pictures of the nail stickers before I used them.

Nail Polish Jewelry - Snow Drops

Today, I have another "Nail Polish Jewelry" post for you! I hate to admit it, but much like this blog, this series was on an unannounced hiatus. I don't think I will expand the series - it will end after I've posted all my nail polish rings. :( Midterms and stress have been beating my face lately. *very heavy sighing* I do expect to finish this series though!

If I recall correctly, I used Elevation Polish Jengish Chokusu and OPI Which is Witch? It turned out to be a very pretty combination! :D I gifted this to one of my high school friends when she came over during winter break. I named this "Snow Drops" because... Well, it reminded me of Elsa. (I made this waaay before Frozen came out though.)

OPI My Vampire is Buff

OPI My Vampire is Buff is an ivory nude creme. I used 3 coats, but some areas still managed to be patchy. It had a nice formula, though slightly thin and runny so it wasn't the consistent OPI formula I'm familiar with. It dried shiny and in a quick-to-average dry time. No top coat. My Vampire is Buff is one of those shades that every collection needs so I definitely recommend it! It's great for nail art and as a palate cleanser.
