Essie As Gold As It Gets

Self-purchased

Essie As Gold As It Gets is a delicate gold flakie topper that makes for a very subtle look. I think it's a great alternative to the flashier karat gold leaf top coats that were trendy a couple years ago. I used 1 coat over Essie Ballet Slippers. The formula was good and easy to apply. No top coat.

#Sharing The Love For Ane Li - The Silver of the Moon

Today, I have a very special mani to share with you all. Today, July 25th, some of us in the nail polish community are posting recreations of Ane Li's manicures and nail art to honor her memory. Ane was a nail artist quite well-known for her gradients and unique style of nail art. I was very saddened to hear that she had passed away around a week ago. (I will not go into specifics, as respect to her family and friends.)

These ruffian nails, which I think look like the silver of the moon in the dark night, is a recreation of Ane's. I think it characterizes her simple, yet trademark look of her nail art! I used Sally Hansen Celeb City as the base and Cult Nails Fetish for a waxy look since it seemed like Ane used a matte top coat over the black polish in her mani.

I hope you join us in sharing the love for Ane Li today!

Wet n' Wild On A Trip

Self-purchased

Wet n' Wild On A Trip is a bright, medium purple creme. It's very similar to Color Club Pucci-licious, but not as bright because it's not a neon polish. I love the color because it reminds me of jacarandas, which I really enjoy seeing bloom and scatter in the wind during spring. Anyway, I used 3 thin coats, but I think I could have gotten away with 2 thick coats. The formula was great and smooth. I didn't have any problems with the wide brush, which I love because it covered the nail so quickly! With top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow + Avon Don't Be Jaded

Self-purchased

Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow (middle and ring fingers) is a gorgeous gold glitter with a smattering of 24k gold dust. This is probably my favorite glitter topper in my whole collection, and that's saying a lot as I'm going through a massive declutter! The formula was great and easy to apply - I didn't have to fish for glitter at all. As you probably guessed, I definitely recommend this glitter.

Avon Don't Be Jaded is a jade creme. Once upon a time, I used to love this color, but not so much anymore as I much prefer nudes and taupes now. I used 2 coats. It's an old polish so the formula was a bit thick and stringy. With top coat. I'm sad to say this polish was just not my cup of tea anymore.

Julep Nedra

Self-purchased

Julep Nedra is a grey-toned, dusty blue creme. It's one of the first Julep polishes I bought after Julep changed to a breathable Oxygen Technology formula, which supposedly provides healthy and beautiful nails simultaneously. I used 2 coats. The formula was smooth and very easy to apply. I'm not sure if this is because of the Oxygen Technology formula, but it dried rubbery. I used the Oxygen Smoothing base coat and Oxygen Performance top coat, which I believe are supposed to be used in the Oxygen Technology system.
