ABC Challenge: M - Layla Mercury Twilight

Self-purchased

Layla Mercury Twilight is a sheer silver with an intensely strong linear holo, which you can see even in low light. (I couldn't capture the strong holo flame well though.) I LOVE IT. I remember Glitter Gal, Nfu-Oh, and Layla were all the rage a few years ago when holos weren't very big (although everyone in the nail polish community loved them). I used 5 thin coats because it was SO sheer. However, the sheerness means you can also use Mercury Twilight as a holo topper! :D The formula was great and easy to apply and control. Just be careful of going over an area twice when it's still wet because it will drag off. It dried quickly, but strangely matte. I didn't use a base or top coat because this is your typical pre-trend holo formula. Pre-trend holos are known for not cooperating well with some base coats (unless they're aqua-based since they don't make the holo drag when you apply it) and top coats (which can dull the holo flame). Unfortunately, Mercury Twilight chipped really quickly, another problem of pre-trend holos. :(

Thanks for looking! See you on the other side of the day!
