Nail Polish Jewelry - OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest

For this one, I used OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest. It's amazing polish (that I still haven't worn?!), but you can only see the beautiful red shimmer at extreme angles. I also wanted to show the blue base, but it ended up looking more purple. I guess I should have used a dark blue polish as a base after applying a layer of EMIO. Another pretty failure. :(

Nail Polish Jewelry - Rimmel Night Before

For this one, I used Rimmel Night Before. Unfortunately, the color shift in the shimmer was just as weak as it is on the nail. But at least the amazing reddish shimmer is visible! I call this one another failure. :( I guess Night Before is best on the nails.

Pretty Serious Liquid Leprechaun

Pretty Serious Liquid Leprechaun has metallic gold hexes and holographic gold microglitter in a vivid grass-green jelly base. It is seriously so gorgeous I can't describe it! So gorgeous you can't believe. I was so sad when I had to remove it. :( Since my nails were short, I only had to use 2 coats to be satisfied. Those with longer nails will probably need 3. It had a good formula, though it was a little thick. I had no problems with application and got tons of glitter on each coat. Since it was chock-full of glitter, it dried a bit bumpy so I used 2 coats of topcoat.

Revlon Parfumerie Wild Violets

Revlon Parfumerie Wild Violets is a very dark purple creme with red and blue shimmer. The shimmer was much more noticeable in the sun in real life. I'd put the color in the same family as the magnificent Chanel Taboo. I believe I used 2 coats. The formula was good and it was easy to apply. Since it was very pigmented (enough to slightly stain my cuticles even after clean-up), I used 2 coats of base coat. It dried very shiny so I didn't have to use a top coat; it lasted until I removed it. Wild Violets, in my opinion, smells like very candied so it is a sweet scent. On the first day, I felt that it was strong and, at times, I felt a little overwhelmed. Generally, I don't wear perfume or body spray because I'm sensitive to some scents (especially those in cologne). However, by the second day, the scent died down considerably. Since I didn't use a top coat, I'm not sure if it would affect the scent, though I've read from other blogs that it doesn't.

NYC New York Color Matte Me Crazy

NYC New York Color Matte Me Crazy is a matte top coat that's easily accessible and cheap! I used 1 coat over Jordana Carnival after topping Carnival with Poshe Fast Dry Top Coat and waiting for it to dry a bit. I'm actually very pleased with the results - I didn't expect much because it was so cheap and not as popular as the Essie matte top coat in the blogging world. Matte Me Crazy had a good formula and dried quickly and to a smooth finish (though the fast-dry top coat could have also played a big part in smoothing out Carnival). The matte effect only took a few seconds to materialize. However, I did have to be careful of potential brushstrokes, which I minimized by applying Matte Me Crazy slowly and evenly. It can also have leveling problems if it's not applied carefully. I'm not sure how Matte Me Crazy will look on light-colored bases, but I do know that dark-colored bases tend to magnify any unevenness matte top coats make. The unevenness is shown more easily on my right hand (not shown because it's hard for me to photograph my dominant hand). I really like the contrast to the shiny glitters in Carnival that Matte Me Crazy provides. I will definitely take it out to play with more!
